Friends, we are proud to announce that Mael Mórdha has signed a world-wide recording deal with Candlelight Records. This is fantastic news for the band and all of our supporters. We are really delighted to be able to finally announce it.

We’ve written what we consider to be our best album so far and it’s great to be getting the opportunity to work with people who can help us get it heard by a wider audience. It is also important for us to be able to get this next album released in the United States, which Candlelight will do, as we’ve always had people over there who are seriously passionate about the band, but have had trouble getting their hands on our releases. The next chapter starts here.

Mael Mórdha confirmed for Redemptionfest 2013

We are delighted to announce that we are playing at Primordial’s Redemption Festival in the Button Factory, Dublin, on the 9th of February in 2013.

We haven’t played in the Button Factory for a long time and also haven’t shared a stage with Primordial for a few years either so we are really looking forward to it.

Mael Mordha hit the studio to record new album

Tomorrow we set sail for Wales where we will spend two weeks in Foel Studios recording the next Mael Mordha album. We have written seven tracks that we are really excited about.

The album name along with other details will be revealed in the coming months.

Mael Mórdha Parts Ways with Anto Lindsay

Regrettably we are announcing the departure from Mael Mordha of Anto Lindsay.

Anto joined Mael Mórdha on guitar in 2005 and played on both ‘Gealtacht Mael Mórdha’ and ‘Manannán’.

The departure is amicable and we would like to thank Anto for his significant contribution to Mael Mórdha over the past 6 years. He added a real extra dimension to our live show and we had some great adventures together.

In time we’ll look at options around filling his size 12s but for now the band will remain as a four piece while we complete the writing process for our next album.

Anto was a good friend of the band before he joined, we will remain good friends after his departure and he will always be considered a part of the Mael Mórdha family.
